Choose JPG or PNG based on the page, not the file extension.
PDF pages can be rendered as images for previews, presentations, OCR preparation or sharing. JPG is usually smaller for photographic pages; PNG keeps sharp text and flat graphics cleaner.

Compact page images
Choose JPG for photographic scans, quick previews and smaller downloads when a little compression is acceptable.
Sharp page graphics
Choose PNG for screenshots, forms, diagrams and text-heavy pages where crisp edges matter more than file size.
